Spouse Notes - Questions Your Spouse Will Be Glad You Asked

Hey there, married people 👋

So maybe you think you know your spouse’s likes and dislikes... but let’s be real: people change, preferences shift, and even after years together, it’s easy to miss the little things that make each other tick.

When’s the last time someone asked you when you feel seen?

Spouse Notes is a simple, fun way to slow down and rediscover one another—both in the everyday stuff and the deeper things. You might get a good laugh, maybe an “ohhh” moment, a surprising “I had no idea!” or even a proud “Ha! I did know that.” 🙌

Here’s how it works:

Each of you fills out your version of the survey (download it below). Then, find a time to cozy up for some couch time and swap answers. You’ll probably laugh, maybe be surprised, and definitely learn something new (yes, even if you’ve been married forever). This isn’t about being perfect — it’s about showing up, asking questions, and paying attention…because connection doesn’t happen by accident, but it can be easy!

🛋️ Wait, what’s “couch time”?

Couch time is 20–30 minutes of uninterrupted time together—devices down, TV off, kids in bed. It’s not for hashing out conflict or making plans. It’s just for the two of you to connect, head to head and heart to heart. Laugh. Listen. Catch up. Be present.

One last thing… Hang on to these answers. Seriously. When a birthday’s coming up, or you just want to do something that makes your spouse feel loved, seen, or celebrated — this will be your secret weapon. (No more gift-guessing panic.)

Better yet, pull it back out every year and go through it again. People grow, change, and shift. (My husband says my love languages change daily… and he’s not wrong. 😆)

Use it to stay curious. Keep asking. Keep learning. Keep showing up.
